Quarterly Fitness Testing

NEW YEAR NEW TESTING, 2024 let’s go!

OUR QUARTERLY FITNESS TESTING PROGRAM CAREFULLY DESIGNED TO HELP YOU TRACK PROGRESS, SET GOALS, AND FIND PURPOSE.

THE TESTING AND ITS PURPOSE;

500m Sprint:

  • Fitness Component: Anaerobic capacity and power.

  • Rationale: The 500m sprint assesses an individual's ability to generate power and sustain a high-intensity effort over a short duration. It primarily targets the anaerobic energy system, which is crucial for activities involving short bursts of intense effort, such as sprinting or high-intensity interval training (HIIT).

  • 100m Sled Level 7 (on tread):

    • Fitness Component: Muscular strength and endurance.

    • Rationale: Sled pushes are excellent for testing and improving lower body strength and endurance.This test targets leg muscles, including quadriceps, hamstrings, and glutes, as well as cardiovascular endurance.

  • Max Wall Sit (90 degrees):

    • Fitness Component: Isometric leg strength and muscular endurance.

    • Rationale: The wall sit measures an individual's ability to maintain a static squat position, focusing on isometric contraction of the quadriceps, hamstrings, and gluteal muscles. This test provides insight into lower body muscular endurance and strength, which is essential for activities like standing or sitting for extended periods and various athletic movements.

  • 60 Sec Max Man-Makers (7kg for females / 12.5kg for males):

    • Fitness Component: Full-body strength, power, and cardiovascular endurance.

    • Rationale: Man-makers are a compound exercise involving multiple muscle groups, including chest, shoulders, triceps, back, core, and legs. By performing 60 max man-makers, individuals are tested on their ability to maintain good form and power output throughout a challenging full-body movement.

These tests, when combined, provide a comprehensive assessment of various fitness components, including power, strength, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness. It's essential to consider the specific goals and focus areas of your gym participants when interpreting the results of these tests and tailoring fitness programs accordingly.
